Boulder City Jamboree Car Show
May 5th & 6th

Tumbleweeds had a very good showing at the Jamboree car show.  A total of 9 Studebakers were displayed and a total of 16 Tumbleweeds members attended at least part of the show.

We set up a table with copies of Turning Wheels and club brochures...National and Local...to give away.  We also had our new feather flag banner standing proud.  Our Studebakers got at lot of attention and positive comments.

Too our surprise and delight, a local Boulder City resident showed up driving a 1911 Flanders 20.  He was invited to join us and parked his Flanders with our group.  For those unfamiliar, The Flanders 20 (as well as the EMF) were marketed and sold through Studebaker dealers immediately prior to Studebaker marketing cars under their own name.  

The Flanders owner said that he would be interested in joining our club.  We also made contact with three other prospects...A gentleman with a 1927 rumble seat coupe who needs assistance getting a Nevada title.  A couple just finishing up a 1941 coupe street rod.  And Jim Bryant, who was at the Route 66 event on Saturday talked to a Grand Canyon chapter member who lives in Kingman and is considering switching chapters as Las Vegas is much closer than Phoenix for meetings and events.

So hopefully, our recruitment efforts will bear some fruit.

The Jamboree Car Show also included many unusual Brand X cars that were a treat to see.  Including a 1960 Edsel, a Henry J Gasser, and a spectacular Torino Ranchero Squire.  There really was something for everyone to enjoy.
